May 10th is officially Mother’s Day here in Mexico, but at Rey De Reyes Church we surprised all the Moms by celebrating a couple of days early! We had a special service at the church in Lomatova, with special participation from the children and the youth. After an inspirational message from Pastor Rodolfo, the Moms were treated to a delicious 3 course meal with pozoloe, a variety of salads, enchiladas (from Noah, sort-of), spaghetti, roast beef, meatloaf and finally desert.
Pastor spoke about how Abigail, saved her bone-head husband from meeting and early demise, and keeping David from unnecessary violence, by taking a stand and using her wits and talents to intervene on their behalf. He linked that story to how moms today play an important role in keeping the bone-headed men in their lives from disaster, and how grateful we all are for that!
The day was capped off with some gifts for all the moms, a raffle and a couple of mom and kid games before everyone went home happy and well fed.
I hope your Mother’s Day was fantastic, and fellas if you forget to do something on Mother’s Day, tell her you were saving it for today and take her out to a nice Mexican Restaurant and maybe if your lucky she’ll forgive you, you big bone-head!
