Sunday School Ideas!

We have not been teaching Sunday School class for nearly 6 months (sure miss it) and yet we are still finding great ideas that we can’t wait to use!  We have always worked with the children of any church we attended so that last 6 months of traveling and visiting churches and preaching in others we have not been able to do children’s ministry, and boy am I ready to get back into it!

My mother-in-law and father-in-law had a turn with children’s church last month and I was geared up to help in any way…unfortunately it fell on a day we were ministering elsewhere…but that did not stop me. 🙂  We found some wonderful ideas thanks to Pinterest (a great site for all kinds of ideas) and put them to good use.  I helped mom and dad find a craft and story for the Tower of Babel.  They said the kids loved it….here’s a picture of the craft/snack. (This is from a great site http://www.makeandtakes.com and was found on Pinterest by me.)  They are marshmallow tinker toys using bendy straws, they can build a high tower all their own.

As for pictures and story helps there are great sites that provide free stories with wonderful ideas and photos.  My favorite is http://children.cccm.com/curriculum/ where you can get the entire Old and New Testament in stories and activities.  They even include game and craft ideas in the teachers pages and then a color page with activity sheets for the kids.  They also have them in Spanish!  I have used them for years now.

Hope these ideas might come in handy for you or your children’s ministry.  Glad to share!
